To ensure that a manufacturing record can be kept throughout the life of the vessel, the following certificates and records should be documented where applicable:

1. Material certificates of chemical and physical properties for each vessel item
2. Welding procedure certificates
3. Welder qualification certificates
4. Records of welding consumables used and their properties
5. Certificate of radiography
6. Certificate of ultrasonic testing or other nondestructive test operations
7. Record of heat treatments applied
8. Certificate of hydraulic tests
9. Reproduction of vessel markings and stampings
10. The vessel detail drawing together with a materials list
