A. TEMPERATURE

For present purposes, temperature is that property of matter, differences of which are cause of heat transfer. It is an intensive property. Its symbol in this book is T, and it is measured in degrees kelvin (K) or degrees Celsius (°C).

B. SPECIFIC INTERNAL ENERGY

The specific internal energy u of a material is the intensive property that changes as a consequence of heat and work transfers in accordance with the linear relationship for a closed thermodynamic system
