The welding process and the tube-tubesheet joint design will affect the joint integrity, and these factors must be considered at the design stage, particularly as they may affect the size and cost of the heat exchanger. In general, the highest integrity joints will usually require the most expensive welding procedures and testing. Typical tube end fusion welds are shown in Fig.4.2(20) and Fig.4.2(23).
