5.5.10 Properties of liquids at temperatures below their boiling points

Section 524 gives data for saturated liquids and vapors at temperatures and corresponding pressures along the saturation curve. The tables in Section 524 have a lower limit corresponding to the normal boiling point of the fluids concerned (i.e., the saturation temperature at 101.3 kPa). Since the properties of liquids are relatively insensitive to pressure, the tables given in Section 524 can be used to estimate values of the liquid physical properties over the temperature range covered and at pressures above the saturation pressure. The tables in this section supplement the saturation property tables by giving values for liquid physical properties at temperatures below the boiling point. More compounds can be included in this section titan in Section 524 because more experimental data are available below the Normal Boiling point.
The same symbols are used as in Section 524. However some factors are given on pages 5.5.1-6 and curves to illustrate the variation of property with temperature are given on pages 5.5.1-4 and 5.
The tables were derived by using the same sources and equations as in Section 524. The values at the boiling point are therefore identical in most cases with those given in that section. The liquid enthalpy base is the enthalpy of the ideal gas at 298.15 K taken as zero and is as before except where published tables are used.
The vapor pressure of the liquids is given but the properties are those measured at atmospheric pressure since the pressure effect is very small at these temperatures. Melting point and boiling point are given in Celsius and are taken from the same references as the vapor pressure. Tabular values are given at equal intervals of temperature in Celsius to assist easy interpolation.
Data are included in these amplified tables covering the same compounds as listed in previous editions.
